Ayana Evans

Ayana Evans received the Jerome Foundation’s Theater and Travel & Study Grant for artistic research abroad. She received a residency at El Museo Del Barrio, and performed at Prizm Art Fair and Satellite Art Show. On-going performances include: “Operation Catsuit” and “I Just Came Here to Find a Husband.”

14th Street between Fifth Avenue and University Place

Using the location of a traffic light on 14th street and University Place, a red carpet and a red velvet rope IWSSWMS***,is an embodiment of the phrase “making a way out of no way.” Clad in her signature neon catsuit and high heels, Ayana Evans will usher participants to cross the street in the glamorous setting she creates, as a statement on creating deliciousness in life by elevating the mundane into extraordinary. The performance will take place during 5 light changes then move to 5th avenue and 14 street with volunteers documenting and alerting followers of location changes.
