8-bit allegories
At-large, along 14th Steet
8-bit allegories is a multimedia installation of video projections with sound on 14th street in NYC. After dusk, animated GIFs collide in digital space with paintings and archival footage to form a constellation of lo-fi landscapes and otherworldly hybrid beings. Rather than take the form of a traditional narrative or allegory, these images resist the urge to instruct and guide. Instead, through rituals of repetition and visual accumulation, 8-bit allegories investigates the blur of corporeal and digital identities in relationship to mass imagery.
