Natacha Clitandre

Natacha Clitandre’s work centres on the ubiquitous nature of technology in everyday life. As she investigates the link between artist and viewer, Natacha uses mobile devices with video and photographic capacities, along with printed media, to infiltrate and comment on the public sphere. She currently lives in Montreal.

Spectrographies - 14th Street

14th Street and Union Square

Natacha will first sample 14th Street’s material artifacts, collecting valueless objects people have left on the street, and according to her own interpretation, provide a sense of local history. Inspired by the notion of serendipity, the first item she selects will provide her with clues about what she looks for next, and so on, until she gets a subjective, but cohesive collection. Natacha will display her collection and ask festival goers to take part in the process by providing her with their own interpretation. The result of this two-tier survey will be shown on web-based cartography, updated throughout the festival.
